Mr. Stacy E. Hopkins, III was one of “my very Best Friends”! He was one the most Compassionate, Articulate and Brilliant men in this city of Omaha, Ever! He Loved people, particularly his wife, children, family, friends and his African-Americans Heritage. He fought, humbly and tirelessly as “an often too little recognized “Champion” for the Neighborhood causes and comprehensive community development issues affecting North Omaha”; and he understood the needs and necessary solutions to the many problems of Urban Community neglect and disenfranchisement! –Stacy E. Hopkins, III often spoke his clear and articulate message of cultural pride, community building and self-respect to our community! Moreover;– Stacy E. Hopkins, III, spoke– “our Needed and so Necessary”— ‘Truth-to-Power’ —and to “The perceived-Powerless”! —Mr. Stacy E. Hopkins, III was one of “My Very Best Friends” and one of the Best Human-beings and Righteous Warriors for Justice, whom I have ever known ! ! !—I Loved him— as My Brother and as a “powerful, purposed and Passionate human-being”! –I and we will all certainly miss him,—but…” we can not !… and must not !— ever forget him or dishonor his memory and his vital and enduring—“Community, Cultural and Economic Development–Legacy” ! ! ! —I will miss his insight, humor, and wisdom—so so very much !—I certainly hope and believe this Community, City, and State—will too !
